My Dad Made 'Way With My USB Cord!
We'll see how I feel after Bootycamp tonight. It looks like the ladies and I are planning a little "sushi suppa afta." I really love going out for sushi and there's something about sharing the food that makes me leave the restaurant perfectly satisfied. I think it's because you're not served a plate of food in front of you to eat, instead you pick and choose amongst the rolls on the table, a few at a time and when you're satisfied you're done. I usually suffer from a "finish my plate" complex, so sushi is perfect for that.
The sun has come out! Looks like we'll have a good bottykickin' tonight ladies!

Luckiest Girl on Earth
Eats have been less than stellar, but each and every extra calorie earned. The less than stellar part would be my lack of hydration when I needed it the most, just too pre-occupied to remember to drink water. I am now working on drinking lots of water today.
I could not be happier with our new home :-) So far there have been moments when I would just stare at everything and I literally couldn't speak because I felt so overwhelmed with my new surroundings. Those who know me in "real life" know how far I have come from where I grew up. Leap and bounds doesn't quite articulate it. Each and every thing that I have or have ever done has been earned and not having anything ever handed to me made me a better person. I appreciate every single thing I have in my life and I think about it often. I even teared up a few times because it was all so surreal. While unpacking and getting settled, I now randomly just bellow out random facts about the house like, "Hey honey, we have a garage!" (Which I certainly don't have to remind him about since he's pretty much lived in there since we moved in! lol), or, "OMG I have a friggin walk-in closet!"
FYI - bubble bath and jucuzzi tubs are to be combined only very carefully! lol What a sight!
Many people are bugging me to post pictures of our house on Facebook. I dunno though, the last thing I want to do is to appear to anyone like I'm showing off my new house and bragging. That's just not my style. I'd actually feel quite uncomfortable with it. Our new home is ours to enjoy and not a symbol of anything to anyone, know what I mean? I dunno, maybe I'll feel differently later and change my mind, but that's how I feel for now.
Oh and what are the chances that we'd move in right next door to a couple from Newfoundland who lived in Lab City for a while? Doesn't surprise me in the least! (Some of you are familiar with the amazing branches of community that are associated with a place like Labrador City (where hubby is from) .) Oh and the family that lives across the road used to live on the street that we just moved from. Freaky!

Like Father, Like Daughter
![]()
That’s right bloggies, we got the keys to our new and beautiful home today!!! It was a gorgeous day which had originally been forecasted for thunder showers, but ended up being hot, sunny and beautiful.
It was pretty much non-stop the entire day and I’ll warn you right now, eats were on the go and I exceeded my quota for deep-fried potatoes for a while :-D :
Breakfast was a large double double from Tim Horton’s:
I grabbed an apple and a Larabar at around 11:00, but only ended up eating the larabar because I got distracted doing the 2049583 things to do this morning:
As you can see our kitchen is over-flowing with boxes etc:
By the time we went to sign all the documents we were starving and we ended up grabbing Lunch at Mary Brown’s and I had a Big Mary Combo with taters (don’t shoot me):
The the entire day flew by in a flash. We have movers coming tomorrow morning but hubby, dad, MIL and I spent the day loading up the two trucks and two cars with smaller items that we didn’t want to pack into boxes or worry about getting broken (i.e. lamps, plants, end tables, odds & ends and the fridge & freezer contents). We’re only moving to another subdivision in the same general neighbourhood, so it was easy to make trips between the two houses (it’s weird that technically we own two houses right now). Before we knew it, it was after 7:00 and we were beat and hungry. We ended up going to Lefty’s for a well-deserved Supper:
We shared a few appetizers of pita wedges & tatziki and wings & chips (which I didn’t have any of, I only had pita wedges):
I ordered the Lobster Roll & fries (more deep fried potato). I couldn’t help it though because they make the best fries known to man and we no doubt at all more than earned our fare share of today’s indulgences:
I wasn’t crazy impressed with the lobster roll though. It was indeed fresh lobster and they weren’t stingy on it at all, but just a bit too much mayo and celery for my liking and the roll was too crumbly. It didn’t stop me from eating it though!
And I may have mentioned to you guys before that the sellers of our new house left behind a little something to keep me occupied this summer:
OMG this was so much fun! Just bouncing like this did a major calve and hamstring workout and raise the heart rate quite a bit! So fun! I can’t wait to have some fun burning calories this summer! The pics aren’t the greatest because the sun was setting just behind over the trees, but you get the point :-D:
Like father, like daughter:
Tomorrow is the “big” move, but really we’ve hired movers so all the hard work is going to be done for us. My job is to get to the new house early to wait for the Eastlink guy to show up for an “all day appointment” to hook up our cable/internet/phone. I hope I don’t have to wait all day for him, that’s no fun all by my onesome! Oh and we have to change are damn phone number and we’re only moving up the road! Apparently we’re just on the edge of a limit, so we’re in a new exchange. We’ve had that number for 10 years! Pffffft! Bah well, such is life. I’d trade that phone number for a new beautiful home any day :-)

Blogger Meat
Well this morning did not begin with the ever popular Green Monster this morning but only because I was low on almond milk and I have most of my food packed up in boxes, so as a consolation I didn’t mind having a bowl of Kashi Honey Almond Flax cereal topped with some fresh organic blueberries and the little unsweetened vanilla almond breeze I had left in the fridge:
I truly love this cereal so it worked out as a bit of a treat.
And of course the Joe:
I can now truly attest to the affect of the Green Monster on my satiety. I was hungry again “on schedule” for a Snack at 10:30 pretty much on the dot. I wasn’t disappointed to have a cashew cookie larabar though:
I ended up going out for Lunch by myself today. I had plans with a friend who was in town, but they had to cancel last minute after I had already gotten to work and had no lunch with me. I’ve never been one to go to a restaurant style place by myself, but I thought, “Why the heck not?” So off to the Brooklyn Warehouse Cafe I went (it’s a favourite of mine) and it’s been a while since I’ve been there/here (since I’m there right now writing this) and they changed the menu :-( The last time I was hear, they had so many delicious flatbreads and my favourite of all, the Portobello mushroom burger. The one thing that remains the same though is that it’s a very healthy menu and they use organic ingredients (from what I can tell):
I was in the mood for a sandwich and they didn’t really have any that appealed to me particularly, but I settled on the Grilled Flank Steak one with a side cup of curried butternut squash soup:
It was all delish (and hearty) in any event and I love that they give you a bottle of water in a wine bottle:
I “splurged” on a diet coke since it’s a hot one today and the thought of the cold crisp bubbles was extra appealing:
And tonight was Booty Camp night! We moved from the sandy volleyball court to an open grassy space which for me was much better. I worked harder because I could do the exercises better and I ended up burning almost 100 calories more than on Tuesday. There was a time during the class that Heather gave us bloggers some tough love to encourage the class to step it up and I thought that was so fun! We were blogger meat! I wanted to be pushed and she did a great job of doing that tonight.
I think all of us will attest that we’ve all got some majorly sore legs from Tuesday night. But it felt really good to get them moving and get another workout in. Tonight’s class was great! We’ve got some major “phone it in” types in our group, but you can choose to work as hard as you’d like. Heather’s doing a good job of keeping people going and encouraging you to give more.
We had fun getting together and making asses of ourselves (nothing new there!)
After the class we all headed up to Starbucks for a post-workout latte. I had a tall skinny hazelnut latte with a banana and a nectarine that I brought with me:
By the time I got home it was after 9! Hubby, MIL and my Dad were home packing and had ordered a pizza since all of our dishes and most of our food is packed. I could have had leftovers from last night, but I opted for the pizza with the works:
And now it’s going to be a late night bloggies! I got lots more to pack yet! We get the keys to our new house tomorrow!!

Checklists
Buns sore = check
Quads sore = check
Abs sore = check
I dunno about you other girls, but I am sore today from bootycamp last night. I seriously didn’t think that I actually worked hard enough to get sore, but I guess the fact that I haven’t actually worked out in so long, it did the job! It feels like it’s getting more sore by the minute! It’s pretty clear I’m rusty!
Breakfast was the youuj:
Took my Green Monster to go again (which is one of the best qualities of having this for breakfast. It’s so filling I end up sipping on it for a good hour which has eliminated my need for a morning snack completely). And the purrrdy peonie at the office:
And in my true fashion, I managed to get a spot of GM on my blouse:
Lunch was another salmon salad from the salmon I grilled up earlier in the week. It was soooo goood! It was a bed of baby lettuces, red, orange & yellow peppers, red onion, cucumber, cherry tomato, feta and Kraft Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette:

Afternoon Snack was a tall skinny hazelnut latte after signing some bank documents at the end of the day (Move in T-2 days!)
It was a muggy day today and it wasn’t a “comfort food” kind of day, but I decided on making one of my favourite comfort foods for supper which I hadn’t had in a loooon time: haddock hash! Sooo easy, especially if you have a leftover potato. Just brown a chopped onion and baked potato in some canola oil, add a piece of fish cut into chunks and when it’s all cooked, add some steamed green beans or peas and of course, salt & pepper:
And since I had a hot supper and a pretty stellar food day all around, I had no quams about digging into some chocolate coconut ice cream!
SOOOO DELICIOUS IS RIGHT!
On tap for the next few days:
Tomorrow: work, lunch with a friend, bootycamp, packing, packing, packing
Friday: closing on our sale which includes morning final “walk through,” sign documents, get the keys, move over fridge and kitchen stuff and whatever stuff we don’t want to stuff into a box (i.e. plants etc.), cleaning out the fridge & stove etc.
Saturday: “moving day” (self-explanatory)
Sunday: cleaning day – have to get the house all cleaned up, spic and span ready for the new owners for the sale closing on Monday
Monday: sale closing (hopefully not much to do there), work
Tuesday – Sunday: work vacay!

Bloggers Do Booty Camp
Breakfast was the usual of late, a coffee and a Green Monster.
Only difference today would be that I had a little “accident” with my Green Monster at work. I grabbed it to go and had it only about half finished by the time I got to work and I had my arms so full of stuff that I ended up dropping it and it went flying all over the place – Exhibit A:
It’s bad enough I have to put it in a travel mug so that I don’t have to look at it, but now I had it smeared all over the place like the scene of Ghostbusters meets Ninja turtles :-P (FYI those bounty paper towels live up to their promise in strength for scrubbing).
Later in the morning I was treated to a tea from Tim’s with milk:
Lunch was some Liberte No Fat Probiotic Svelte strawberry yogurt, raspberries, blackberries and sprinkled with crumbled Artisana Amazon Bliss and with a half of an Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin smeared with some Peanut Butter & Co cinnamon raisin swirl:
Then I had the best iced tea ever at Local Joe’s Cafe & Market. It was unsweetened but had sooo much yummy flavour! They even put some blueberries in it:
Before heading out for my Bootycamp debut, I had a banana with some cashew butter and the other half of the english muffin from lunch although I left my camera in the car, so no pic (sorry).
So tonight was our first night of Bootycamp Fitness in Clayton Park. It was a full house, er I mean, full beach volleyball court. Yes that’s right, we did our bootycamp in wet sand. Now while I can appreciate the idea that toughing it out in the sand might actually up the intensity level, which is a good thing, it certainly made it difficult to do things properly. We did about 394757 different kinds of lunges and by half way through that circuit all I cared about was feeling the burn and not if I was doing it correctly. Burning calories and working your body is the main thing, right?
It became obvious to me pretty quick that I hadn’t worked out in a while! I did get a decent workout out of it and my HRM reported around a 500 calorie burn.
The best part of the entire thing was the fact that the five of us bloggers (and another good friend of mine) got to go together and we laughed through most of it, so it was fun to be able to keep a fun mindset while getting sand in your shoes (among other places!)
The not-so-fun part was the fact that she pulls out a scale for you to be weighed – in public, 7:30 at night and after working out. Now people, for the years I’ve been doing WIs and for most of it included weekly weigh-ins, I have never ever weighed in unless it was first thing in the morning. We all know that right? This morning when I stepped on the scale it read 180.2. Tonight it read 185.2. I know all the bla bla facts about why, but I just don’t wanna see that, ya know? Pffffffft. So basically there’s only one thing I can do about that…..get that number downnnnnn.
So that’s it bloggies, it’s onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
So immediately following our workout, Farm Girl pulled out two luscious containers of her family’s farm fresh berries and shared them with us:
And Lynn & Jaime brought everyone On The Glo bars that they made the perfect post-working snack and let me just say, they are YUM
![]()
And what’s even BETTER is that we got to meet another one of our haliblogger buddy Lex! OMG she’s so cute!
See? Look how excited Farm Girl is?! hehehe
And it was a fun time to give Lynn her memory mug that we all signed for her during our trip to Toronto since it didn’t work out for her to join us and we missed her not being there :-)
Oh yeah and then these two girls driving a Red Bull car pulled up to us wanting to see what we were up to and wanted to give us a free Red Bull and take our picture. Is it free? Yup. Okay sure. I’m not much for Red Bull and chemical crap, so I didn’t crack it, but I did take it home just in case I’m in need for some extra energy for moving this weekend:
In the car afterward, Farm Girl hooked me up with some almonds which totally satisfied me:
I was actually not hungry at all after the on the glo bar, strawberries and almonds, so when I got home all I had for “supper” was some Mucho Nacho Guiltless Gourmet baked tortilla chips and some roasted red pepper dip:
Not the best way to end the night, but I decided to listen to the hunger. Plus I’m pretty sure those on the glo bars, strawberries and almonds were a pretty good start.
Looking forward to Thursday ladies :-)
