Pre-weigh-in:
I feel so lucky to have these girls to attend the meetings with! I girl sometimes needs two shoulders to boost her back up ;-)

Our meeting topic today was intended to be:

We didn't get to talk about it very much because we had a special anecdote from one of our meetings members who was in possession of the "magic journal" for the week. I will talk more about the "magic journal" another time, but "Jeannie" sure touched my heart from all angles. What a character that woman is!
There were a few points said by our leader that I thought were very important.
- She always mentions our right to "press the re-start button" ever single week. I think the idea of that is so important. It not only allows you to put any "indiscretions" behind you and move forward, but it also means that it is now a new week to also keep going!
- Making excuses sabotages your chances for success. Isn't this so true. It's important to be realistic about all aspects of your weight loss approach.
- Instead of dreading the upcoming holidays and staying on plan, think of it as an "opportunity." In other words, if you stay committed to your plan during a traditionally difficult time full of all sorts of temptations, coming out the other side no worse for wear and maybe even with a loss, is an opportunity that breeds future success
- End of the meeting quote: "If you do not change directions, you may end up where you are heading." A very powerful statement for someone who is looking to find that "moment where it clicks" to turn your interest in losing weight into a commitment.

Great take away pieces of advice/thoughts from your meeting. Thank you for sharing them. Proud of you for not letting old patterns overtake your post weigh-in thought process and for going to the gym to do something positive with the negative energy you may have been harboring. Fantastic way of looking at it...week 2 is over, done, kaput. On to week 3 for you! Loving the videos as well when we can hear your voice and get the inflection of your words (plus it was a lot less typing for you) :-)
Way to go Ang.
I'm so happy you've discovered the love for exercise.
Its the thing that makes my shitty days better.
Angie,
You had a kickass week, an exercise machine and a phenomenal manager of your POINTS. You are such an inspiration to me, and so many others- you ROCK!!
Sounds like you had an awesome meeting, I'd love to hear more about this "magic journal"?! Here's to a fabulious week 3, WOOHOO!!!
Take care girlie,
Jenny
Well, it can be disappointing to not lose when you've been doing everything right, but then again, like you said, you lost a good chunk last week. Besides, they say the slower you take it off, the less likely you are to put it back on. That's what I tell myself, anyway, lol.
I like the points from your meeting, especially the one about not making excuses. There are things that have the potential to be setbacks for all of us, but the responsibility for our actions always lies with OURSELVES, and no one else! It's so important to remember this. I think it's part of the "being realistic" thing, too.
I'm glad you're looking at the good efforts you made this week and not dwelling on the scale. I know it's hard when the scale's number doesn't match your effort, but, you should be so proud of yourself for everything you accomplished this week.
You're doing great!
Angie you did great this week. And you have the right attitude and you know you did everything you needed to do. Sometimes the scale is a bitch.
Keep it up and you know you'll get the results you want.
You've definitely got the right attitude Angie. Just keep doing what you are doing and ultimately, the scale will not let you down. Or should I say, your efforts will not let you down.
I think you're doing great.
I was the same last week, I have recently increased my exercise and really stepped it up and think that makes a difference...hopefully it will kick start your metabolism though and you'll have a great loss next week. Great attitude and great inspiration :o)
love the 'tude girl!
I love your honesty in this post, thank you for it.
Here's to a great week 3!
I thought you looked smaller today when I saw you.
Interesting tidbit - Philly Cream Cheese is following you on Twitter, but Taco Bell is following me! LOL
I love reading the advice highlights from the meetings:)Thanks for sharing.
Our bodies are weird and wonderful, hanging on to weight and releasing it on their own terms. Next week the scale will tell the tale you want!
Here's a quote I love" Every good choice you make, reinforces other good choices"
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” (Paolo Coelho)
I love how honest you are with these things. I really don't want to sound as a cliché, but I think you know -even with a tiny gain - you're doing pretty damn fine. I really cheer for you!!! (:
Tammi: Taking the negative energy and doing something positive! That's a great way to look at it! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos :-)
Amy: If anybody has inspired me to turn this new leaf on exercise it is YOU, thank you ;-)
Jenny: Oh don't you worry, there is much to come on the "Magic Journal"! hehehe (Thanks doll ;-) )
Lainey: Agreed. I'm glad that you taking something away from my meeting points. Very true about the responsibility of our actions being within ourselves. Spot on girlie.
Marisa: Thanks buddy, even though it did bum me out, I'm making every effort to keep on doin' what I'm doin!
Sarah: Absolutely, it's the accumulative effect of each day, not any specific one that tells the tale ;-)
Tamara: Important clarification indeed! It's the efforts and not the scale that won't let me down. True Dat!
Misssarahlou: Yup the last few weeks have been ALL about stepping up the exercise. If anything my metabolism should be more revved up now than it has been in a long, long time.
Shirls: ;-)
Sarah: I am trying to be as honest and real as possible. I think it's so much more important than lying to yourself, right? ;-)
Tasha: Awww thanks muffin! :-D Hahaha Taco Bell that's so funny!
AliceinParis: I'm glad you enjoy my recaps of the meetings. I hope that it benefits you all too. Thank you for that quote. It totally sums it up!
Eszter: I totally agree with that quote too! I've heard it before and I believe in it. Thank you for that little boost :-) To me, sincerity and honesty are one of the things I believe are most important. Thank you.
One of my favorite quotes that an old WW leader used to say was, "You always get what you deserve, you just don't always get it when you think you deserve it!" Or something like that. Staying within your points and exercising WILL pay off... it just didn't happen for you at this particular WI.
Keep up the great work. You're inspiring me to re-motivate myself.
I think you said it yourself - 0.4 lb is nothing. I'm sure you know, the scale is not always a true indicator of where you are. Keep your positive attitude and keep working hard, you'll get there.
you know - on weeks that I "feel" smaller - the scale NEVER shows a loss. EVER. I love that feeling though.
It was so nice that you included your after workout video - nothing wrong with feeling a bit bummed, but it really is how we deal with these set backs that decides our overall success. You've clearly learned how to deal with it - nothing like 6 AP points worth of endorphins to get you back on track!!
Way to go!!
I ♥ you.
That's all. :)
oooh I love love love that end up where you are heading sentiment.
I needed that this morning with my writing.
THANK YOU!
chezjulie: That quote couldn't have come at a better time! I LOVE THAT, thank you!
Javachick: absolutely :-)
Fatinah: that was me showing the damn scale who's boss! ;-P
Lynn: right back atcha kiddo!
Miz: thanks Julie! Isn't that wonderful!! So perfect and you can apply it to anything!
Keep up the good work!
