Hey Bloggies, it was a great day today all around! The sun was shining and I was right on track. :-) I Looove September!
I decided to get back on the food photo wagon, BUT keep in mind I jump on and off this wagon whenever I feel like it! :-D
Something happened to my Breakfast pics! Booooo! I had a toasted Nature’s Path Pomegran waffle with PB2 & half of a sliced banana on top with a cup of Just Us coffee with Scotsburn Blend Cream (of course).
Morning Snack was a delicious and juicy pink grapefruit! They are so good! I can’t believe I used to disguise these things with refined sugar sprinkled all over them!
These puppies are soooo juicy and I always end up using like an entire box of tissues at my desk!
Lunch was delicious leftovers from last night’s supper (balsamic Brussels sprouts and roasted garlic broccoli) and I had planned on having a Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar with it (protein), but I couldn’t find it anywhere!
So instead I decided to treat myself to a tall non-fat Pumpkin Pie Spice Latte from Starbucks! YUM!
An afternoon Valley peach:
Fresh blueberries, raspberries and Liberte No Fat Vanilla Svelte Organic yogurt:
After work I had to take Lucy to the vet for her checkup and vaccinations and *gasp* nail clipping! You guys, seriously, she does not handle this stuff well at all. She’s a rescue and will always have “issues” and one time we had to actually muzzle her at the vet, pin her down and do it. But THIS time she was a STAR!!!! She didn’t love it, but MUCH better! It was all good until “Jasper” some hoity toity husky came in and mucked it all up on me! Then the “real” Lucy came out and thank god it was when I was paying the vet bill and heading out the door!
I made hubs some meat lasagna a while ago and had frozen the leftovers. It ended up being the perfect quick Supper option, especially since my protein count for the day wasn’t where it usually is:
I made using a combination of regular lean ground beef (organic) and ground chorizo (wine & herb) from the Italian Market and it was spicy! Holy! Goooood though:
Dessert was a 100 calorie So Delicious Coconut Milk ice cream sandwich. These things are sooooo good!
I’ve still got plenty of Flex POINTS left for the weekend and I’m especially looking forward to tomorrow night. What’s tomorrow night you ask? Many of you may be aware that tomorrow is the big Eat Atlantic day and like many others, I have pledged to eat foods from only in Atlantic Canada. To have a little fun with it, a few of us HaliBloggers have decided to get together for a little “dinner party” in honour of the day.
Stay tuned for our good and local eats and good times!
Have any of you pledged to eat local tomorrow? Do you try to eat local often, or has this day brought a new awareness to you and the impact eating local actually has on your health, the economy and the environment?
