The Jig is Up

Do you see anywhere on this ad that says you have to buy one to get it free? Me either.

I had a dentist appointment this morning before work. I skipped breakfast and thought it would be the prefect Friday treat to have one of those Starbucks Vivvano smoothies for breakfast since it sounds pretty nutritious and is 280 calories which is the amount I aim for in a weekday breakfast. So by the time I get down there after my dentist appointment, it's 9:30 and I'm starving and can't wait for my smoothie.

Turns out you have to BUY 1 to get your free one! Who in the heck needs 2! Honestly. I would have just opted out of it, but I was so hungry and my other options would have been sub-par oatmeal or pastries I'm seriously ticked off.

Don't mess with me with I'm hungry. :-D

I even bit the bullet and registered my starbucks card to get the stupid thing and the only reason I got the starbucks card was to use the free internet.

They got me. They got me good.

At least I had a treat to bring into work this morning and someone else's Friday was brightened.

Okay, better now :-D

Edit: The next time I visited Starbucks I checked the balance on my card and I was not charged for the smoothie(s). So basically I was rewarded by getting TWO free Vivano smoothies on account of the Baristas' misinformation. Karma people. Karma. :-)

I think something was wrong with your Starbucks. Here in Ontario - i just got 2 free. One for each of the registered cards I used. When they rang it through on the card, it came up at a 100% discount. Sorry this happened to you.

Honestly, WRITE in and complain on the starbucks web site.

They're pretty good about getting back to you and compensating you accordingly ;)

Call Starbucks corporate or send them an e-mail. That is WRONG.

Which one were you at? You've mentioned before about the lack of smarts/service at the South Street one. Buggers.

Ya know what? I'm not normally one of those people who "complains" but I think I'm going to. First I'm waiting for my transaction to show up online on my sbux card to see for sure that I was charged. The baristas rang it in as a buy one get one, but ya never know what happened when the card was swiped. If there's a charge on there, then I'm complaining. Period. If there's not, then I ended up with TWO FREE ones! lol

I'll keep yas posted!

Jaime; it was Spring Garden/Robie - the same one that always screws up stuff.

That's the same location where I asked for a misto that Jaime always talked about and they had no idea what it is. Right across from the bank right?

That is not right...the ad says you get it free. I would defitely complain...maybe your Starbucks just had it wrong.

That doesn't sound right at all. You should definitely write Starbucks and let them know - you'll probably be compensated! :)

Definitely email the company. The barista made a mistake, that's all.
