Okay bloggies these smoothies are getting out of control! (In a good way though!) This morning’s Breakfast smoothie had lots of yummy ingredients, two of which were these:
I have been looking for a way to use my huge jar of Artisana coconut butter and I have a few bottles of this Mangosteen stuff that a client passed along a while ago and it’s perrrrrfect for these smoothies.
The entire smoothie consisted of:
- 1/2c unsweetened vanilla almond breeze (the rest of the carton)
- 1/2c skim milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 scoop tropical vanilla ultimate protein
- 1 tbsp sprouted chia seeds
- 1 tbsp coconut butter
- a few strawberries, hunks of pineapple, cantaloupe & honeydew
- 3c baby spinach
- ice
Oh yeah and a coffee with cream (of course):
And Lunch today was a repeat of supper last night. You may have noticed quite a few hard boiled eggs around here recently. I buy organic eggs (which tend to cost a bit more) and they were on 50% off at the grocery store so I bought two dozen. It turns out that the best before date was today so I had to cook them all! I don’t mind though because eggs are delicious, nutritious and pretty much the perfect food all around. There is nothing to fear about the egg!
Sammie was whole grain bread, one hard boiled egg (sliced with one of those awesome egg slicers), hellman’s olive oil mayo, S&P and some lettuces. And some fresh blueberries were delicious too:
And out came a craving for a chocolate dipped oat cake from Planet Organic. I friggin love those things:
Okay, okay, okay and there was also an organic peanut butter ball :-D:
Hey a woman needs to curb her cravings when they come. For me it only hits me like this once every 3-4 months so I consider myself lucky! :-D
I was feeling a bit sluggish this afternoon and I knew that I had bootycamp after work so I thought I would give this Vega Sport powder a try as some pre-workout mojo. I mixed it up in my Bluenose water bottle with plain water:
I decided it needed some chill to it, so on the way to Bootycamp I stopped into McD’s for a cup of ice (I have no desire to step into that place otherwise. I remember going there every single weekend a few years ago :-D).
It’s not the prettiest drink in the world, kind of a murky iced tea look to it. It wasn’t too bad tasting, totally drinkable:
I have to say though that I just wasn’t feeling it tonight at Bootycamp. I dunno what it was but I had a hard time pushing myself. My knee was bothering me quite a bit, but I was definitely missing my mojo and I didn’t regain it from the Vega sports drink.
Post workout, Lex pulled out some raspberries that Farm Girl and I didn’t mind dipping into. She how shy Farm Girl is?
We chatted and gabbed a little bit before leaving, and it was getting late, so I munched on an apple on the way home:
It was about 8:30 by the time I got home, so my originally planned dinner got postponed to tomorrow night and I had, you guessed it, some more egg! This time it was 3 slices of whole grain bread, one spread with green onion hummus, and two hard boiled eggs sliced on top of some olive oil mayo and some lettuces:
And a yummy side of fresh strawberries, blueberries and a dolop of wild blackberry Liberte yogurt:
That’s three eggs in one day! That’s gotta be a record for me.
Now off to watch Big Brother!
Damn it I hate Jessie! Booooooooooooooooo! What a coincidence, an egg head!

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - I am SO mad that Jessie is back in!!! What a douche he is!!!!!
I cannot handle his booby flexing....and his 'gunshow'. *GAGGGGG*
Tonight's Booty camp was rough - I really think my bum knee + the heat & sun affected me.
My SIL is coming on Tues - should be fun!
The only thing I don't like about boiled eggs is peeling them. I end up with an egg with a surface that resembles the craters on the moon. Any tips to avoid that and/or make it easy?
Oh sure, now I have a craving for hard boiled eggs!! (haha, it's usually me making all the bloggers crave egg salad). I know what I will be making when I finally leave the land of no vegetables!! :)
My BB better be taping while I'm away!
I totally agree, Boot Camp nearly killed me last night.
I'm so craving an egg sandwich now! :)
Im with lainey and have been known (PLEASE D ONT CRINGE) to get those pre-boiled ones in the grocery sometimes.
the Daughter LOVES hardboiled eggs and that stuf heats up the freaken house in the summer too!
thus endeth my egg rant :)
Egghead = Jessie...LOL!!!
I might be going to Halifax next week, where shall I find Planet Organic?? I would love some PB balls. I bet it's better then my normal stop at RMCF...lol
Lex: I loathe Jessie, like LOATHE! Hubby and I literally laughed at him when we saw him with his new proudly sported 20lbs of muscle that he's gained since last season and his head is so TINY and completely out of proportion to his mutant looking body! I would have rathered ANY of the other return players over him!
Lainey: I once heard that if you add a little baking soda to the water after they are cooked for a few minutes before peeling them (even in a new batch of cooler water), then it can keep the peeling from sticking to the egg. I've tried it once and it seemed to work!
Jaime & Lynn: Hey it's better than craving the peanut butter balls eh! lol I consider it a success if you walked away wanting the eggs more than the oatcake and pb call :-D
Miz: I've bought those eggs before and they are SUCH a GREAT quick healthy snack to grab at the grocery store. I was so impressed that the option was there! Unfortunately I blew it up in the microwave! lol :-S
Julie: PO is the plaza on the corner of Quinpool Road and Beech street. It's right beside a Vet and next to Tim Horton's. I'd add Pete's Frootique on your list of places to go, they've got waaaaay more. Pete's is on Dresdon Row off of Spring Garden. What's RMCF?
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......egggssssss!
Where did you pick up the Coconut butter? I must admit, the packaging had me at hello. The bright colours just give it that je ne sais quoi!
It's sure been a while, but as usual, I've left your blog hungry!
I think i will have an egg for supper LOL.
Baking soda, huh? I'll have to try that. See, I heard vinegar, but it doesn't seem to work.
We have 2 Planet Organics, but neither of them have those fascinating nut butters you are able to get! I'm so jealous!
Can I just say that I LOVE your dishes? I'm always admiring them when you post pictures of your meals. LOL
