By some strange and random occurrence, I woke up at 5:30 this morning and felt like I could get up. My first instinct was to get dressed and immediately get out for a run before I felt sleepy. Then I realized that I just had my foils done last night and I was under strict orders not to wash it in the morning and to wait a day, so I was not going to get all sweaty and not be able to wash it until tonight so I decided instead to enjoy a cup of coffee and a few blogs:
I gotta tell ya I LOVED that I woke up early on my own and felt like running because that’s the first time that has EVER happened on a work day! I didn’t even get to bed early! It could be that my mind was racing due to all the current events in my life, but I’m hoping it’s a perk side effect to my morning Green Monsters! :-D
Breakfast
Speaking of, after a bit of blogging, I got my GM ready and
decided to add a bit of unsweetened coconut to the mix to see if it become some secret “wow” factor, but it didn’t end up making that much of a difference. It was worth the try and the GM combo I’m currently using is just right anyway:
Again the GM had some major staying power for me today and I pretty much hopped and skipped into the office feeling like a million bucks! I’m not even going to question it, maybe it’s the GM’'s maybe it’s my return to the photojournal blogging, or my return to make on trackness and that feeling of being back “in control” of things, but my mornings have been night and day (is that an oxymoron?)
Lunch
I hit up the Local Joe Cafe & Market for lunch which is this really cute fair trade and organic cafe that serves lunch and uses local and organic produce and products from the local farmer’s market which I think is great! Oh AND free wireless internet! My new BFF:
I was tempted by the corn chowder they had as the soup of the day (I had the miso soup there recently and it was to DIE for – it ended up being more of a sweet potato and lentil soup). I decided on the roasted veg sammie which was served on a baguette and a cup of coffee with a splash of cream and a big splash of milk. I have weaned myself off of sugar AND sweetener in my coffee and other
than the occasional time, I’m content with just the cream/milk. I do totally enjoy a splash of sweet, but 6/7 days a week I’m content without it.
I heart baguettes. It had roasted eggplant, onions, peppers etc., pesto and feta (the pesto and the feta was the seller for me):
It didn’t look the prettiest and even though I was expecting it to be warm (for some reason), it was still delicious. I was thinking about it and I could have gone to Subway and got a 6” combo with a drink and chips for the exact same price, but this lunch was not processed and was made with local and organic ingredients. Now it was a bit of an indulgence calorie-wise with the baguette and pesto, but totally worth it.
Now don’t you all go and take over my new favourite little spot because I’m sure I’ll going to becoming a regular :-)

Your cafe looks so cute!!!!
Have you ever thought of getting an "Eye-Fi" card like Kath has??? I am SOOOOO tempted because I would love to just have my pictures added without me doing anything (me = lazy!)
Jen: I hmmm'd and hawww'd about it but she complained about it a bunch of time giving her grief, so I figured I'd give it some time and see if it was something I still might want later on and maybe after any current bugs are fixed. Xmas maybe? :)
