Sushi in the City:
Everything has already been a blast here in Toronto with the ladies and that is no surprise! Jaime and I arrived in Toronto and got to our hotel to meet Amy around noon and we met Tasha and the four of us hit the streets for a little “walk about” and went for some sushi at this little sushi place on Queen Street that Tasha loves. I can’t believe I didn’t take note of it – I’ll have to ask her and report back.
The four of us split all sorts of appies and rolls
Edamame
Tofu Tempura
Vegetable Tempura
Shrimp Tempura
Yakitori
Dynamite Rolls, Philly Salmon Rolls, Spicy Tuna Rolls, California Rolls, Spicy Salmon Rolls, Sweet Potato Rolls, Crave Cue Rolls….just to name a few!
Then we did some walking around and while waiting for Jen and Cat to arrive, we went to About Cheese to pick out some cheeses for our “wine and cheese” we had planned at Tasha’s place to all “get acquainted”
So I’ve never really spent time tasting cheeses before and let me tell you this was QUITE an experience!
I’ve never really “explored” cheeses before so this was new territory for me. I’m a run of the mill cheese kinda gal, but I tasted more cheeses in this shop, with the help of the lovely Lauren who worked there explaining the cheeses, that I almost felt like I already was “done” having cheese and that was just the sampling before we had our wine and cheese!
These are “some” of the cheeses we sampled:
Moooore cheese…
Then we pretty much couldn’t “taste” the cheeses anymore so she gave us a shot of this “spruce beer” palate cleansing drink which was very much welcomed!
Then, yup…more cheese!
Then it was off to stock up on some wines and the it was back to the hotel to meet Jen and Cat!!!! Tasha then left to get back to her place to set out the spread and chill the wine!
We all made our way over and we sat around, gabbed, had more cheese (which was MUCH more enjoyable with the baguette, crackers, fruit, veggies etc. I had quite enough cheese already at the shop! It was soooooo gooooood!
Our first tasting was a toast to us all finally getting together to meet! I seriously love these girls – they are such amazing gals! (But you know that!)
- Breakfast (and hopefully get rid of my tremendous WINE headache! lol
- Touristy stuff (CN Tower, ROM, Casaloma, Bus Tour
- Bier Market
I forgot my power cord for my puter at HOME! Ahhhh! I hope I don’t run out of juice! I will plan to do a video post later on today hopefully to get up for you guys to recap!
