On the Mend

I can turn my head a bit more today so that's a good sign! It'll pass, as always, there's a few more days until our hike, so I'm sure I'll be all bright eyed and bushy tailed by Saturday morning. Thanks you guys for your sweet comments ;-)

I couldn't be more pumped for our hike. Worried about my constant foot problem, I caved and went ahead and bought a pair of Merrells trail shoes. They are waterproof and have traction and are excellent shoes. I figured I really only had my good runners and they would have gotten ruined on the hike and they wouldn't have enough traction really, so rather than have to replace my running shoes that are meant for running, why not invest in a good pair of hiking footwear for the same price? I plan on getting out and hiking more this year and enjoying the great outdoors of the beautiful province we live in! Sometimes we fail to just open our eyes and see what we are fortunate to have around us and one of those things is Nova Scotia!

What else...Brooke and I hit up Costco last night and got tons of good stuff: organic spring mix salad, carrots, broccoli, Sabra hummus (2 kinds), coffee, strawberries, blackberries, haddock and I scored two cheapo comfy shirts too. A tank and a long sleeved one. I heart Costco! AND I heart having someone to split on the good stuff with!

yaaiee for the shoes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Merrell's but they aren't waterproof...in fact they are meant more for Summer hiking and are good for crossing streams and stuff. Hopefully the ground isn't toooooo wet. :)

I have Costco on my errand list too....I wanted to look at some cheap capris and I bet I saw the same long sleeve shirts!

I miss walking through NS.... Calgary just doesn't have the natural look to it. Everythign is evenly planted and just doesn't SMELL right.

I hiked Cape Split a couple of years ago and found much of it a little boring - through trees. But man oh man - the end result is SSSOOO worth it! Hope you loved it and had great weather for the views!
