Yesterday after work as soon as I got home. No messing around. I got changed into my comfy workout clothes, got to try out my new b-day workout Tri Y Tank (in stripey turquoise) which has the iPod pouch in the back which I didn't know how the use of that was going to go. It's great to have a little pouch built into the tank where it's out of the way and the wires from the ear buds aren't being bumped around, but I have to say it's awkward to have to reach behind if you need to flip through any songs. It would be great as long as you have a set play list ready to go that you'll be satisfied with and don't want to be fussing with changing songs which is probably the idea! Oh yeah and Lulu had a cruel April Fools joke at their store where they taped up the doors with brown paper and a sign saying that they enjoyed being in Halifax, but were closing...didn't fool me (cause I'm the April Fools masta, right!) and while others on the street stared at the doors in horror, I marched on in and could feel them all sigh in relief :-D
The run was good/okay, but not incredibly long, but I did it, got out there, got some exercise and I felt great for it. We're expecting rain for the weekend, so it was a "speak now or forever hold your peace" kind of kick in the butt (plus your lovelies who nudged me by commenting on my status :-D). Although I forget to stretch after (which is super important for me) and I have a slight pull feeling in my left groin (which is a version of hip pain that I had for about 2 straight years following our car accident) not to mention I can tell that my bursitis is being aggravated. I iced it while watching ER to try to keep the inflammation down. That is going to be of the utmost importance if I want to continue any running, I HAVE to ice the bursas! Plus I'm back to being really good at taking my multi, VD and Omega 3's in the morning again. I need all the anti-inflammatory Omega 3's I can get :-)
During my b-day visit to Lulu, I also bought another pair of crops that are reversable and turquiose to match my new Tri Y Tank. I think I bought turquoise to fill my void of not going down south this year :-D . I didn't end up buying a new mat because I couldn't decide which one to buy. I could have bought the comfort mat and the towel (for hot yoga) that I originally planned, but then they had this "super duper" yoga mat there that was super heavy and was called the "black mat" or something like that and it's was super durable and anti-skid (even in hot yoga) etc. and was the cost of the other mat AND the towel together (but the idea being you wouldn't really need the towell, but I just wasn't sure about that either. I am not that much of a yogi that I'd be the only one in the class with the super duper "black mat" lol So I'm still searching around and am going to check out Coast Mountain Sports today at lunch time.
I plan to get in some strength training at home this weekend. I haven't done strength in AGES and I notice it in a bad way. I'll probably dig around for some at home programs I can do with my weights. My set only goes up to 8 lbs I think, but I'll figure it out somehow.
It's Friday my peeps, it's friggin Friday. WOOT!

Hope you had a GREAT birthday!!
Great job on the run!
Thanks for the tip on the tank. I need shirts that have storage for summer running and I live in my lulu ones.
I say the towel is still necessary for hot yoga. I would not want to practice just on a mat. I slip enough there as is!!
Hope your bday was wonderful!
I"m always amazed when a person can work a full day and then exercise, seriously for me, its first thing in the morning and more typically around 10 am when I take my lunch hour down at the gym at work. By the time I walk in the doors after work, I'm just done for the day and have no motivation to get out there and get it done, so I'm always inspired when someone else does, which means after all that blabbing is that you are amazing!
Good job on the run girl! You make us proud. haha.
Cute top! I've always wondered about those iPod pockets. My pants and my shorts both have one of those little waistband card pockets and I just put my pod in there. Seems to work for me.
Marie: it's my first lulu tank with the pocket and the area also lends for lots of breathing room. I'll be prepared with a set playlist next time! I think you're right about the towel. I've tried using a regular towel too and it just doesn't quite cut it. I think I'm going to a hot yoga towel at the yoga studio the next time I go.
Shirls: I feel the same way you do, that's why I felt the need to announce my intention on FB and post about it after! lol
Bionic: I've got that little pocket too on both pairs of crops! I haven't tried it for my ipod, but I WILL, thanks!
I think I would have been fooled by Lulu. I wonder if it actually hurt their business that day?
How do you find the support in that tank? It's only got the skinny straps right? Do you wear a sports bra underneath?
wow, a tank AND pants, when you went in to get a yoga mat? That store is dangerous! but fun!
Randi: yeah I wondered about that myself! I wonder!
I find that those built-in bras are only good for things like yoga or non-impact type activity. I always wear a sports bra underneath any kind of work out tank that has a built-in if I'm going to be bobbing around :-)
