Bring on the Bluenose!

Okay I'm officially signed up for the Bluenose 5k again! I can hardly believe it's only 3 weeks (correction TWO WEEKS) away! My stomach better be feeling better by tomorrow because I got some serious pavement to pound! :-D

I'm a little disappointed that I wasn't able to shoot for the 10k this year with my buddy Lynn and my buddy Brooke, but I'm just happy that I'm able to run at all, so I'll take the 5k in an instant if it means that I can get out there, participate and beat my time from last year. So far so good on the hip issue and I think it's because I'm not pushing it. My blue and purple toe from our hike seems to be okay with the running too (it keeps getting darker though, I hope I don't lose the nail!) Isn't it crazy that it's all blue and purple from the shoe being too small?!

Remind me not to go home for my Mom's birthday next year. How dare she interfere with the Blue Nose! :)

Good luck with the recovery.

I pushed hard to hit a five mile time in the gym the other week and paid of it in soreness in more than one place.

I've got mixed feelings about pushing yourself. I like to know I want it that bad to push hard. I like to achieve serious goals that take effort...

On the other hand if I push too hard and do injury to myself of course I then need time to repair and all the pain and hassle of recovery.

It's a funky balance of pushing hard but not too hard.

being pushy is just the way at foolsfitness!- Alan

WOO go Ang!!!!!

Even if you aren't able to do the 10K this year, you still have a goal - you have to blow last years time away!!!

You are going to do so awesome girl!!!

Jaime, FarmGirl, Tasha: Next year, your buns are runnin' (or walkin')! :-D

Lynn: I'm proud of you for shooting for the 10k, REALLY proud!

FoolsFitness: I am contantly in battle with that balance!

Anonymous: I've missed the photo food journalling a little bit because it brought some excitement back, however these days with the sale of our house among other things, it was too demanding! But, I think I will be getting back to sharing photos etc. of meals here and there. I will do an update on my meals of late! :-)

You're an inspiration, Angie! Loved looking at your photos too. :-)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I' so glad you enjoyed it and I greatly appreciate your kind, caring comment.

I responded to you there with an explanation about why I needed to choose a low-cal diet to help a serious health condition I'm battling.

Thanks again and wishing you great success with your 5k!

I haven't registered yet - still waffling between the 5k and 10k. Just can't decide, so I will probably register at the last minute like I did last year. Then there is no psyching myself out!
