I woke up late this morning even though my head hit the pillow a half an hour extra early last night (did ya hear that Dale?? hmmm??? :0D), but the waking up late was because hubby forget to actually set the alarm! That man cannot be trusted with an alarm clock let me tell yas! If the power goes out and it has to be re-set, it never fails that he’ll always mess up the am/pm and the alarm won’t work because he’s got it screwed up. So now he automatically hands over the clock to me for setting. For a guy as smart as he is, it’s the simple things in life that he needs a little help with ;-)
So I was awaken to the sound of the coffee maker beeping in the kitchen telling me that my coffee was ready. This normally doesn’t got off until I’m stepping out of the shower, so needless to say I was a bit more strapped for time this morning for Breakfast. All that meant was that I didn’t have time to make stovetop oatmeal which is really the only way that I make it now.
(One of you asked me how long it takes for me to make it on the stovetop. I put mine in a non-stick saucepan on medium heat (1/2 way on the dial) and let it come to a simmer while I’m blow drying my hair etc. and come out and check on it and give it a stir to make sure it’s not getting overbubbly/dry etc. It get’s to the consistency that I like in about 10-15 mins I would say.)
This morning I had two slices of Ezekiel toast with 2 tbsp PB2 and a half of a sliced banana with my cup-o-joe with scotsburn blend cream and sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup for a total of 289 calories:
There is something about Ezekiel bread that I love. I don’t exactly know what it is, but I just love the sprouted grains I think. Did you know that in this bread “six grains and legumes are sprouted and combined, an amazing thing happens: a complete protein is created that closely parallels the protein found in milk and eggs” ? I never expected to get that from a bread!
My morning Snack today was a pink grapefruit with as much of the peel and skin removed as possible (so it’s mostly the inside juicy pink part, just the way I like it) and one 60 cal portion of Cracker Barrell light medium cheese cut into peices. This was a total of 124 calories:
Lunch was some leftovers from last night’s supper and was another serving of “Creamy Greens & Pepper Rotini” with a container of fresh plum perfect raspberries for a total of 424 calories:
One of the best features about this pasta mix was that it wasn’t too saucy. It made three pretty good sized portions and the sauce consisted of 2 tbsp of cream cheese melted into the hot pasta after it was drained with a tiny bit of pasta water to help it melt and about 1/2c olivieri tomato-basil pasta sauce in the entire recipe and the cream cheese really makes it taste quite decadent!
I don’t think I need to rave about these guys too much, because they speak for themselves:

I was feeling my tummy rumbling later in the afternoon, and I had another deep chocolate vitatop warmed with 1 tbsp of pb2 on top and it was heavenly. The only not so great thing about these is that they are pretty crumbly, so you have to be careful with them or they will fall apart. That doesn’t matter much though because they only last about 2 seconds! This Snack was 127 calories:
I got home from work and I took Lucy outside and got changed as soon as I could to get in some good and intense cardio on the elliptical before Supper because I had yoga tonight after supper and I wanted to get a good calorie burn in since tonight’s yoga isn’t a real calorie burner class. I ended up burning 400 cals on the elliptical and I would say about 100 cals at yoga for the entire hour and a half. About 40 mins of the entire class is spent doing postures, but they are really slow and instructional, so you don’t really get the chance to work really hard. I did a half-shoulder stand tonight again which was super fun because it makes you feel a little bit of an acrobat :-D
I had a huge supper calorie-wise. Since I was strapped for time, I popped in an Amy’s Roasted Vegetable Pizza with No Cheese in the oven and I ate 2.5 servings of the entire thing :-S That’s almost the whole pizza! I also had a side salad with some light feta and some balsamic vinaigrette. 0.5 of the 2.5 servings of the pizza was eaten after I got home from yoga because I just couldn’t shake the hunger for some reason. My metabolism must really be getting into gear! The total calories for my entire supper (including the little slice I had when I got home) was 750 calories:
Here’s the thing about this pizza – it doesn’t look like much but it is probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had from frozen and even better then a lot of fresh ones I’ve had. It might not have cheese, but the entire “sauce” that’s the dark brown colour is caramelized onion “spread” instead of sauce and it’s sweet and delicious.
My total daily calorie count for today was 1714 and even though I feel like I ate alot, apparently I still had 150 left to play with! Holy frig! I’m just going to roll with it for this week and see where it leaves me on the scale on Monday!
Anyone notice my newest additions to my new dishes? I’m slowly building up the entire set :-D
I sat here trying to think of a clever title for my post, but I got nothin’!

LOVE the dishes!! Very chic!!
I'm lovin your pasta..mmm
That Amy's pizza is suprisingly delicious! Never thought I'd like a pizza w/o cheese, but you're right about the brown sauce-it's yum. I cannot eat one serving of this either. I saw on another blog that this is available in a single serving size - I think about 400ish cals. I haven't seen it in the stores though :( Too tempting for me to buy the regular size!
hmmm...have you every considered moving to Alberta?I would love to have my own personal chef ;p
That food looks YUMMY! I want some! I never thought to put banana slices and peanut butter on bread. I think I might try it tomorrow.
The Ezekiel bread is just wonderful isn't it, chewy and tasty! Your grapefruit looks awesome, I wish I could eat it. (Can't due to meds.)
The Half Shoulder poses look like a great stretch!
Thanks for reminding me to pick up that Amy's pizza tonight :)
you were running late in the morning and still lit a candle for your breakfast? How adorable!
Man your food is looking Gu-ood! I wonder if you have access to more foods than we do here. I haven't seen raspberries in the store lately. Plus I can't find ezeckial bread in any grocery store around here.
How do you always manage to have such yummy looking meals??? It's inspirational!!!
I really love how you make every meal look like a special occasion, with beautiful dishes and even candles.
I'm thinking it would be relaxing to eat like that -- you wouldn't want to eat really quickly when the atmosphere is so calming.
Thanks for the inspiration, in so many ways.
Cathy
