Well happy Friday bloggies! I love Fridays and I’m really looking forward to this one because I get to go and have brunch tomorrow with Tasha, Farm Girl, Bionic and Lynn tomorrow at Cora’s! How lucky am I! :-D
This morning I decided to alternate with the Ezekiel cinnamon raisin english muffin, toasted with some becel and a cup of coffee with some scotsburn blend cream and some sugar-free syrup for a total of 247 calories:
I had a nice juicy and crunchy apple for a morning Snack of a honeycrisp apple for 80 calories:
I had the last serving of the couscous salad for Lunch on a bed of organic herb salad with a side of fresh raspberries for 257 calories:
I succumbed to an unplanned Snack and had a Kraft active bar that I had in my drawer at work for 140 calories but I didn’t snap a picture because I was too tied up with papers etc. That was unplanned but not the worst thing in the world and it was high in protein. I was trying to be good because I had plans to meet up with my buddy Lena after work for a coffee so I planned for a skinny vanilla latte with a special caramel machiatto biscotti treat for dunking for a total of 290 calories:
In my opinion, skinny lattes are well worth the 130 calories because they fill you up like a snack and you get a milk serving at the same time = not a bad deal at all when it feels like a “treat.”
And while I was at Chapters/Starbucks I decided to treat myself to a few magazines to flip through when I got home and changed into my Friday night comfies, so I warmed up a bowl of the “Use it up” Chili from yesterday and grabbed my two mags and ate it downstairs on the couch with hubby while he played his PB3 game. The chili was around 315 calories:
Hubby had already ordered pizza and garlic fingers before I got home and the pizza was hot and untouched when I got here, but I am proud to say that I looked at it and closed the box and went with my original plan of the chili! Yay me! The whole reason is because I already planned to have brunch tomorrow with the girls at Cora’s! One or the other, not both! But I did have 2 tiny end piece garlic fingers worth about 120 calories I would guess.
So that actually did put me over my net of 1200 calories for the day because the extra snack attack that I had with the Kraft bar was in there too and I took the day off of exercise since I got home so late. My total for the day was around 1450 calories which is about 250 above my net goal of 1200 because I didn’t get in any exercise. I’m not gauged to exercise 7 days a week, so sticking to 1200 a day on those non-exercise days will be pretty tough!

Those ezekiel english muffins are the best!! I saw that Clean Eating mag at Superstore the other day, but was in a rush and didn't have a chance to flip through it to see if it was worth buying - any good?
I totally admire you for choosing chili over pizzie. I wouldn't have the willpower, the mouthwatering smell gets me every time.
See you in a few hours!! ;)
I have to ask: where did you find the honey crisp apples this late in the season?! Pete's?
Lynn: See ya soon buddy!
SeaShore: I have had them around in my fridge for quite a while (they last forever), but I'm sure I bought them at Sobeys a couple weeks ago, I think!
Thanks!
You're all getting together today? Why is this the first I've heard of this? Can't help but feel a little out in the cold guys...and on my birthday weekend...
Anyway, have fun
Hey Angie
Can you review the Eating Clean magazine. I've been looking at it in Shoppers and really considering picking it up. But would love to hear if you think it's worth the $$$
That is pretty awesome to avoid the pizza!!!!
I think I missed something in your last post with the 1200 calories...that seems super low...I am going back to re-read!!
Have fun today!!
(BTW, I am thinking I might have to reschedule my Hali trip to the fall - when it will be nice and warm and I have recovered from all my other trips!! - AND I plan on bringing something SUPER special along with me....)
You are so back on your game! Who-hoo!
I am with you that a starbucks treat is a good snack, if you are choosing wisely! I used to be all about the Caramel Machiato's, now I just get a latte and add a tsp of honey. I love the SF latte's, but try to avoid artificial sweeteners....
1200 calories is low! I don't know if I could do that (=
I struggle to stay around 1200 on non excercise days, as well.
goof for you on passing on the pizza. so difficult!
Heather: OMG!! I can't believe you got left out of the loop about today! I'm so sorry! It was completely unintentional because Tasha started the FB message because she was coming home from Toronto for the weekend and you aren't on her FB and she wouldn't have known to think to include you! It never even occurred to me at all! I'm so sorry! And now I realized that you had your b-day thing tonight that I forgot to reply to on FB too! I feel like complete POOP now!
We are going to have to plan a "make up" GTG, capeesh? Again Heather, I'm sorry and it was unintentional with the way it worked out with Tasha starting the thread :-(
