Too Yucky for Yoga (again)

Tonight was the first night to another 12 week session of yoga. Unfortunately, we had a terrible day weather-wise and we had freezing rain all afternoon and all night. So, yoga was cancelled for tonight. :-( I’m excited about going to that class again :-) This is still a beginner class, not not “as” beginner, so the instructor has said. I’ve decided that I want to do hot yoga every Sunday and this beginner kripalu yoga every Wednesday. That gives me two days a week of activity that’s not “the gym” if you know what I mean? Everyone hates “the gym” or at least normally doesn’t look forward to it, right? These yoga classes are not at my gym and are at different places = fun and not “gym-like” feeling that everyone kind of resents.

I’ve only ever tried hot yoga once with the girlies and this time we’re going to try Moksha yoga downtown to compare what this is “real” hot yoga as compared to the “warm” yoga last time at Breathing spaces. It should be fun and its an excuse to get together and catch up (like we don’t catch up every day on here, right?!)

So due to the nasty weather, I didn’t get home until after 6:00 and supper was late. Again, I didn’t have my afternoon snack and then regretted it. Although I didn’t overindulge as a consequence so that’s good!

I’m trying out some different photo options this time around to see what they are like (from Live Writer).

For Breakfast today I had a delightful bowl of oatmeal consisting of the usual of late:

  • 1/3c oats
  • 1/2c unsweetened vanilla almond breeze
  • 1/2c water
  • 1/2 banana chunked and cooked in the oats
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp flax meal
  • splash of vanilla
  • dashes of cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp chocolate PB2, constituted with water and drizzled on top]
  • 8g toasted walnuts

Of course my cup of coffee with blend and sugar free syrup too:

I was running around trying to get myself organized this morning and ended up putting on a pair of my xmas socks. You like? :-D

Lunch today was a bowl of Campbell’s Fiesta Vegetable and black beans soup with Vanilla Liberte No Fat Probiotic Svelte yogurt with some more Chocolate PB2 (I can’t get enough of this stuff) and topped with fresh blackberries. It was so delish! The blackberries were really plump and perfect:

Then for Supper tonight I took Tasha’s suggestion about the Mexican casserole idea since I had lots of ingredients on hand from getting groceries last night and I made a similar version but a bit different. This one had:

  • bulgur
  • Yves ground “chicken”
  • black beans
  • red, orange, yellow peppers
  • red onion
  • jalapeno
  • corn
  • salsa
  • cumin
  • S&P
  • light marble cheese on top

I had it with a dolop of fat free sour cream and snipped scallions on top and a glass of Diet orange crush (made with Splenda). It’s my new favourite diet drink:

And for the first time in as long as I can remember, I didn’t “count” and I also didn’t finish my serving because I felt I had enough :-) I finished off with another one of these little guys and cleaned up the kitchen and came down to blog :-):

Hmmmm what else?….

Oh yeah, there’s another giveaway around the blogsphere and I'd love love love to win the giveaway ZestyCook is doing right now - a book on Fundamentals of Photography. I just got a new fabulous camera for xmas and I want to learn how to use it!

I can’t tell you all how excited I am about our new BLBE challenge. Lynn and I have a lot of ideas and are so pumped how how enthusiastic you all are too! I love you all!!!

It’s too bad that Lynn’s team doesn’t have anything on us eh?! :-P

Oh and if I seem to be a little MIA lately it’s only because we’re working hard at trying to get everything up and going for the big kick off this weekend!

Boooooooyaahhhhhhhhhhhh bloggies!!!!! Have a great night! I’m off to bed before 11:00 tonight!

Love the socks -- I have some similar! Good luck on winning the book. I too love photography and need to learn how to really use my camera -- even though I've had it nearly a year. I'm just lacking motivation right now to take any pictures. The weather here has been crappy. But we live with grey skies from November - February. Then things start to perk up again.

Enough rambling :)
