My boss got me the cutest little fun gift. It's a "traditional Scottish porridge stirring stick!" Isn't that the cutest and most appropriate little fun gift ever?! How many of you got spurtles for xmas?? Hmmmmm???? :-D
Last night was another late one for me. I managed to get my buns in bed by 11:00 which is my absolute cut off point where my head is supposed to hit the pillow, but the World Juniors were on and we had to watch our boys win and celebrate in their glory. Usually the Juniors are on in some other part of the world so hubby was happy that he was able to watch it at a fairly reasonable time. That meant it was past 11:30 (our time) before the lights went out. Let me tellya I felt it this morning - felt like I was hit by a Mack truck. I had to just a snooze.
So that meant it was another quickie Breakfast for me today. I did a repeat from yesterday with a toasted Weight Watchers bagel, Chocolate PB2, the other half of the banana from yesterday (sliced) and my usual coffee with blend cream, sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup from Starbucks (I'm getting low so I'm going to have to treat myself to a latte tomorrow and get another bottle :-D:

No snack today and for Lunch I had the leftovers from my yummy chicken fettucini and ricotta concoction from last night. It was a small chicken breast with shake n' bake, smart pasta fettucini, red swiis chard (I ain't 'fraid a that either), fresh spinach, shallots, garlic, cherry tomatoes, ricotta cheese, pasta water. It was just a small amount left for lunch and to go with it I had the same yogurt combo as yesterday, vanilla no fat probiotic Liberte with chocolate PB2 and Pom seeds. All delish and satisfying:

I had an apple planned for an afternoon snack, but I wasn't hungry. Lunch filled me up quite well. In retrospect I had wished that I had the apple because how many times do I have to learn not to go to the grocery store hungry! I went straight to the grocery store after work to finally pick up some groceries. We were out of a lot of staples and I hadn't time to go in the past few days. So I decided something quick and healthy for Supper so I grilled up a portabella mushroom cap marinated in EVOO, balsamic vinegar, oregano, S&P, topped it with a kiri goat cheese square, sliced tomato, red onion, roasted red pepper on a toasted whole wheat bun. Let me tell you I friggin love those things! YUM-O! I made a salad with herb salad mix, english cucumber, tomato, light marble cheese and some balsamic vinaigrette. Holy Yum!:

And while I was grocery shopping I came across these little guys! They are individually wrapped mini granola bar "bites" and they are one POINT each. They are marketed toward kids, but they are not bad for a 1 POINT yummy little somethin':

Notice how I'm not including the POINTS values the last few days? I've decided to put a little faith in myself this week keeping track in my head and just try to eat some healthy and well balanced meals the best I can and we'll see where that leaves me. I know, I know, what the ? We'll see how this gpes...I'm sure I'll be back to posting POINTS again soon. POINTS are always there waiting for me like a long lost friend if I ever stray ;-)

I think it is great to see you NOT counting points, and trying to just eat healthy. I hope it shows up on the sclae for you! :)
Sclae....no, I didn't mispell it or anything. That's how us Americans of Swiss descent write it. :)
HAHA!!! I thought a spurtle was an animal or something!!! FUNNY!!!
So, um, can we make portobello burgers when I visit???
Thanks for not picking me for your team ;) LOL It's on girl!
Go Team Lynn! :)
I already told Jen, that Tokarski goalie for team Canada is from my home town and went to school with my little brother. Cool huh?
Are you counting points unconsciously? Like while you're cooking figuring out the points or something? I definately think it's something to try to see if it works. However, it's always there again since you know it works right?
Wow, amazing looking eats, today!!!
Love the spurtle and those little granola bars!!!
I am soooo excited to be on your team for this challenge. I am ready to rock this season!!

too bad my boss is a Toddler :)
Your pictures are pretty...the food looks really good! I'm delighted to be on your team for BLBE! Go Team! Let's be winners!
I haven't been writing down my points either. I mean, it's not really something your going to do every single day for the next 30 years right? I figure that I need to find a balance and learn to live my life without a piece of paper and pen. That being said, I still keep a mental tally to make sure that I'm staying on track.
The menu looks amzming Angie. Seriously. The mushroom burger looks amazing. I need to be trying some of this stuff out! Thanks for the tips!
HI Angie,
I got one for Christmas too!
I can't wait to use it.

Just stopping by to let you know that your team is going doooooooooooooooown!
Nice spurtle. That is a very cute gift! :D
Like the spurtle, but LOVE the green cutting board (if that's in fact what it is)!
i have never heard of a spurtle before! i love eating kid foods - the portion sizes are just right! and (maybe this should be a secret), i eat my oatmeal with baby spoons so that it takes longer to eat.
Good luck not counting points. I think you're going to do great.
Everything you make looks so good!
That spurtle is cool I wasn't sure what I was looking at when the pic first popped up! :)
Thanks for the info on the mini granola bars that might be a good snack for my son. :)
I love your spurtle. lol
I had no idea what it was going to be as it loaded up.
YAY for great bosses who know their employees!
Have I told you lately that you are awesome? :)
Spurtle, spurtle, spurtle - I made it out of wood....
Sorry - couldn't resist! Does the spurtle help your oatmeal making?
Question for you? How do points translate into calories or do they not at all? Do you have a rough idea how many calories you are eating?
So excited to be on team Angie!
I had to pop over and say how happy I was to be on Team Angie. We are going to dominate!!
Your spurtle is quite cute! Sounds like a cross between a sparrow and a turtle. Your's is much cuter :)
I also think your PB2 banana bagel looks SOO good. I'm going to have to invest in some PB2 for SURE!
Happy as all get out to be on Team Angie!!
No counting of points. That is impressive. I do it, even when I don't mean to. It is so a part of my day. What I know is that when I don't write it down and keep track in my head something always gets forgotten.
Thanks for all the hard work on the BLBE. So far, I am really enjoying it.
Pam
