Friday Night “Pep” :-D

When I woke up this morning I wasn’t that hungry for some reason. I didn’t feel like I could eat a filling bowl of oats, so I opted to have some fun with a yogurt/fruit/granola combo that I knew would be another delicious option for Breakfast. I had Mocha No Fat Probiotic Svelte yogurt, topped with Chocolate PB2, sprinkled with some Blue Menu granola, strawberries, half of a banana and some walnuts. It was all delish with of course, my morning cup of joe with blend cream and sugar-free syrup:

Of course this didn’t hold me over as well as the oats would and I ended up needing a Snack around 11:00. I had a Southbeach Protein bar with a cup of Candy Cane Lane tea (Celestial Seasonings):

Today was Lunch with my buddy Brooke who was in town for a job interview and who of course, did amazing in her interview and who will be moving back here to the city for a while. It looks like we are going to have a new roomie for a while :-D Finally someone else will be around my house who will eat the same kinds of food I eat! lol We went to The Coastal Cafe where an old friend of hers is the chef. It was delicious. I had the Smoked Salmon, Avocado and Chive Cream Cheese, Whole Wheat Panini which came with a side salad with balsamic dressing and just a few homemade chips:

I also had an Americano to sip on while chatting with the Brookster. Brooke had the “Los Huevos Rancheros” which is
2 Fried on Crisp Corn Tortillas Topped with Sauce Ranchero, Jack and Cheddar, then Topped with Guacamole and Salsa. She said it was also delicious:

Although, it didn’t quite fill her up, so she got this decadent devilish thing:

I had only one small bite :-D

So here’s where it shows how awesome you guys are and therefore how awesome I am for having you to keep my fire burning :-D:

So as you all know Friday night is “Pizza Night” in our house and tonight was no exception. I knew that my lunch was higher on the calorie side, so I decided early on that I wouldn’t be having pizza tonight even though hubby was. Now that is nothing new – I often decide that I’m going to “opt out” of the pizza, but then end up having it anyway. But this time it was different!

YOU GUYS GAVE ME THE EXTRA SPARK I NEEDED TO STAY STRONG!!! First it was Shirley this morning with her adorable breakfast art which showed her amazing team spirit (and her adorable charm), and then there was TJ who made me nearly leap out of my seat with excitement when I saw her on her elliptical bearing the statement that rings true to all of us who need to stay strong during the weekends especially, and then there was Sandy who took the time on her blog post today with her contribution to our pep rally and made me laugh with pride.

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART :-) MWAH!!

Now let me try to explain the impact that this had on my will and motivation this afternoon. Lynn and I had originally planned on hitting up a hot yoga class today after work. But last night the both of us had been going steady so much this week, that we decided not to push it and we were going on Sunday anyway. So that was my planned exercise that I had not replaced with anything else. Okay. So today I’m all fired up from you beautiful people and not only do I not want the pizza, but I still called the pizza place for hubby, ordered it up, walked into the pizza place where the warm aroma of the pizza wafts right in your face as you come in from out of the cold, I picked it up, got back into the car, stopped to pick up the mail, got back into the car where the pizza aroma had now taken over the entire air space, then I got home and put the pizza and garlic fingers into the oven to stay warm for hubby. I wasn’t even phased by it at ALL!

THEEEEEENNNNNNNN I proceeded to put away the few groceries that I picked up, got changed into my work out clothes, and did 30 mins on the elliptical (20 of which were HIIT) while watching King of Queens on TV (I so love that I can do that!), and then after made an amazingly delicious, 200% more satisfying Supper than that dirty, greasy, stinky, rotten pizza could have ever given me. I just looooove portobello mushroom burgers :-D They are easily in my top 5 favourite meals. If someone were to tell me a few years ago that I would choose a healthy bella burger over a big mac in a flash I would have laughed them off the stage! But it’s true!

I made a bella burger which I marinated in EVOO, balsamic, oregano & basil (while I worked out), then grilled it on the grill pan, toasted up a whole wheat bun and piled it up with arugula, fresh basil, red onion, roasted red pepper and a square of the Kiri goat cheese spread = YUM-friggin-O! I had a side salad to go with it topped with a teeny big of light greek feta & oregano dressing, some walnuts and some fresh grated parm reggiano *cue the cheesy porn music*:

I had a nice cold glass of diet orange crush to go with it and Oh and another one of my new pretty plates, only a bigger size :-D

This is a FIVE MINUTE MEAL!!!

After that I took some much needed time to watch this week’s BL which I had DVR’d and then had to laugh to myself because I heard them mention “pep rally” on the show and I hadn’t even watched it yet! lol How perfect!

Then I did get kind of hungry. I let it go a while hoping it would pass, but it didn’t so I cracked open a bag of salt & vinegar Skinny Sticks which were incredibly light and an earned Friday night Snack and enjoyed them very much without feeling like I had just pigged out on pizza and/or high calorie chips. I LOVE THESE THINGS!B-IMG_0786

So there you have it, my beautiful bloggies, you have inspired me to stay good tonight. Thank you! You rock! I hope that I’ll see more creative pep rally posts in the coming days ahead!

‘night guys!

Angie, I am so proud of you for passing up that Pizza! Pizza is one of my favorites, and I know how hard it is to go into those stores and smell it all. And you didn't even nibble any garlic fingers! YOU ROCK!

I am going to have to work on my pep rally this weekend. :) My sister and family is in town, staying with me, so I don't have much free time to hit the blogs.

Way to go girl! I am so glad I am on TEAM ANGIE!

Sooooo want that panini you had at lunch!
Pizza is a Friday Night staple at my house, too! Awful temptation for me. But, I "shook it up" around here last night! Family was not happy! Revenge is theirs tonight, they say:)

I will refuse and have something way more healthier. I'll just think about you and your post and it will be easier. Thanks so much for your motivation and all your hard work with all the wonderful delicouse ideas on your blog.
