Well let me tell YOU I/we got our arses kicked tonight at “fit kick” at Nubodys. Bionic signed Farmgirl and I in (since neither or us are members) and it was the first fitness cardio type of class that I have done in a LOOOOOONG time. To be honest, I felt like I had this strange body that I didn’t know what to do with! lol The last time I participated in a class that intense, it was before my MVA when I was about 240 lbs. I could definitely do more things like jumping jacks that I couldn’t do before, but I still felt out of shape for sure! I’m tellin’ yas, that girl leading the class was FIT! She was ripped and was hootin’ and hollarin’ the entire time in the mike and didn’t even seem to need to catch her breath. Don’t ya just hate her? :-D
Anyways, I’m glad I went because it was a long time since I’ve gotten my butt whipped like that in a long time. I honestly felt like Jillian was right there saying “unless you faint, puke or die…” lol It was great! I just kept yelling when I was supposed to, cause she kinda scared me :-D
There is no surprise as to my Breakfast today because it was the same as the last 3 mornings! Only difference is today I constituted the Chocolate PB2 to be “thinner” so that I could drizzle it all over the top, almost like icing. SO GOOD! To be honest, I was 3/4 the way through it and thought it was might actually be a tad bit “too” good for breakfast! It was more like dessert:
No snack this morning either, I didn’t feel like I need it, and I knew I wanted to get a Snack in before our workout after work. For Lunch today, I had leftovers from last night. This was absolutely DELICIOUS! The squash and sweet potatoes roasted like that with the EVOO, rosemary, thyme, savory, S&P was perfection:
And I knew it would be late before I got home for supper, so I had this Jocalat Larabar on my way to the gym. I’m a total Larabar fan now. The very first time I tried them I did not like it at all. I think it was the flavour and the hot summer or something, but now I love them. They are so nutritious and the ingredients pretty much are just dates and nuts (and cocoa for this kind):
We went to the Nubodys next to Pete’s Frootique in Bedford and any time I get the chance to go to Pete’s, I have to take a quick spin inside. My Supper plan was to get a big yummy protein packed salad from the salad bar there, but by the time I got over there after the workout to get one, they had already put it away :-( so I took a very quick spin around the grocery store and picked up just a few little things. I instead decided to indulge in one of Pete’s panini sammies (I heart panini sammies) :-D I was going to have the tomato, mozzarella and basil one, but I didn’t think it had enough protein for the workout I just had, so instead I went with the roast beef, caramelized onions, provolone and horseradish (another one of my favs). And I decided since that was a bit of an indulgence, I’d be sensible about whatever I had to go with it.
I remembered a comment I had gotten from an anonymous post-er a while back asking me if I had every tried Foxhill yogurt and that you could buy it at Pete’s. It’s made locally here in Nova Scotia. The description of the yogurt on the website is:
Foxhill yogurt is a full-fat (3%MF) yogurt made with four active cultures. It contains no modified cornstarch or gelatin and has one-month shelf life. Foxhill yogurt can be purchased at Fox Hill Cheese House as well as at the following locations: Farmer’s Markets in Halifax and Wolfville (year round); Lunenburg and Hubbards Farm Markets (spring, summer, and fall); Pete’s Frootique in Halifax and Bedford; Kent Co-op in New Minas; Apple Berry Farm Market in Bridgewater; and Meadow Brook Farm Meat Market in Berwick
I am always up for trying local products and supporting local farmers, so even though it is a full fat yogurt, I wanted to give it a try. Now keep in mind, I have never ever bought full fat yogurt probably in my life because I’ve always been afraid of the extra fat and calories. But I have to say, since I have stopped outright “counting” points, I feel more at ease with eating higher calorie things, as long as they are nutritionally packed. Especially now since I’m on antibiotics, I’m trying to make sure to get in a regular dose of probiotic active bacteria cultures. I decided to give the yogurt a try with some fresh strawberries along with my panini:
I ended up eating the other half of the panini on the way home in the car because I was so hungry :-D. It was after 8 by the time I actually got home, so can ya blame me? I really liked the yogurt! It had alot of flavour! I got the vanilla flavour and only had a half of a serving which is still around 90 cals and 5g of fat, but it was a reasonable amount, so that with the strawberries was a perfect compliment to the panini sammie. And it also satisfied my after dinner “sweet tooth” and I have no desire at all to have a chocolate or anything that usually crave after supper.
Oh and I wanted to say thanks to Randi for reminding me about those Splenda pops at Sobeys, those “Diet Rite” ones. I had forgotten about those, thanks girl! ;-)
Night night everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful night’s rest and I am hoping that having my butt kicked tonight will lead me to a wonderful restful sleep :-) Tomorrow night is beginner II kripalu yoga which will be exactly what I’ll need because I’m going to be SORE tomorrow and I’ll need a good stretchin’!

Maybe next time we'll try something easy like yoga.
Yum on the panini! I heart all paninis, too!
Ohmigoodness!!! That sandwich sounds so friggin good!!!
Okay...I am slightly scared to come visit you guys...unless we can all just agree on yoga!
Glad to hear you had a kick ass workout. I officially got my ass whooped by my stationary bike. God help me tomorrow because I'm sore from doing my workout already.
I got to tell you I wish I could grab your sweet potatos and squash right out of that picture. They looked sooooooo good!
I'm not counting points either anymore. It sounds like you and are are very similar now a days....although well, you're way better at it, but I'll catch up with ya!
ohhhh never seen the splenda pops!
I have a panini book which is amazing! Not all that are in there are gooey cheesy nightmares, some are light and breezy too. All yummy scrummy!
That's awesome! Sounds like a fab workout. If there's no challenge, you know there's something wrong!
Signed,
Forever-leaving-your-blog-starving!
Man you eat much differently from me sometimes! sounds soo good but so fancy! I'm eating a salad of lettuce, leftover whitefish and bottled salad dressing. Here you are eating things I've never bought and barely know what they are! I should be more adventurous. You were the other person who cooked two different meals each night right? One for you, one for the hub? (or was that somebody else?) Just cause he won't eat it doesn't mean I shouldn't!
have fun at yoga!
Thanks for the shout out btw.
I really need to start roasting my veggies, everytime I see roasted veggies on blogs my mouth starts to water.
Weird question: How runny/soupy would you say your yogurt is? I've been making my own in the crockpot and it's a little...goopy. :(
Would you mind giving an assessment of your texture since you've indicated that your yogurt has no cornstarch or gelatin but that it is a manufactured product?
With thanks!
Barb
